the artesesc is the artistic movement that sprung from the more general sesc organization - it was in 1976, that the sesc began to promote artistic movements, starting at this time with expressionism and impressionism.

however, it was not until 1981 that artesesc was officially born, as they began to host artistic exhibitions, lectures and workshops from all over the country.

since then artesesc has gone from strength to strength, displaying more than 30 original examples of visual arts, with activities in 80 brazilian cities.
