the centro cultural oduvaldo vianna filho, located in rio's gávea neighborhood, is the former home of wealthy portuguese entrepreneur and builder joaquim silva cardoso.

the center was founded in 1992 as an homage to the brazilian playwright rio oduvaldo vianna filho.

its facilities include a 50-seat auditorium which hosts debates, lectures, seminars and various art exhibits and a collection of over 3,000 national and foreign films. all events are free to the public.
