during the 20th century and up to mid-1980s, the building was occupied by the colégio jacobina school.

in 1995, the entire building was restored and the315 sq mt interior was divided into 4 rooms for architecture and urbanism exhibits.

the center preserves and demonstrates the urban heritage of the city of rio. the entrance is free and it is open monday to friday from 12 h to 18h.
