neighboring the former bank is the centro cultural correios, built in 1922, originally to become a school - it was never used as one, for it was utilized as the administrative and operational home of the brazilian post and telegraph newspapers. nowadays it accommodates the cultural center for the arts, music and film of brazil.

furthermore, the casa frança-brasil is an active film library, where visitors can find an extensive library and data base.  there is also a great shop and café.
