it is the most famous beach in the area for historical reasons -  namely in 1503 américo vespúcio (amerigo vespucci) landed there making way for the first housing project in the region and the establishment of the first church in brazil which held mass in a closed environment.           

the beach, 1km long, has fine, white sand and the once polluted water is now clear as well as warm.

due to its built-up nature there is little space for sports and recreation, however the beach is ideal for children and older people.           

praia do anjos offers a great nightlife as well as sightseeing options in the nearby historical areas.
