boarding usually takes place at porto dos pescadores, and the trip can be arranged beforehand either at the hotel or on rua das pedras at the colônia dos pescadores (fishermen's colony). 

the fishermen tend to charge by the hour, so holidaymakers can stay on the water for as long as they please -it all depends if the fish are taking the bait.
