the museu do surf has on display hundreds of different surf boards, and has been visited by nearly 200,000 people.

taking a walk towards the outskirts of the city can be very rewarding - there are some beautiful sites to see with so much nature in the region herons flock to the area and viewing their daily flights to and from the mangrove is a true spectacle.  

the best time to witness the beauty and elegance of the herons is between 5pm and 6.45pm when they leave búzios and fly to the swamp to sleep, a special place named dormitório das garças.
