praia do centro is the beach where the famous centenary fig trees are located. 

praia da tartaruga (turtle beach) has calm waters and is an ideal place for families with children and for fishing.

turtle beach hosts rio das ostras' blues & jazz festival,  and got its name from a large rock shaped like a turtle if viewed from above.

the beach was chosen by tamar for the preservation of marine turtles that are at risk of extinction.

praia do bosque (forrest beach), is situated in between turtle beach and central beach.
