a further 45 minutes hike along 500 meters of trail will lead to the praia do meio (beach of the middle), the biggest of this group of beaches - as the name suggests, this beach is in the center of all others.

along the way, it is also possible to reach the top of the pedra do telégrafo (hill of the telegraph), a hill nearly 400 meters high (1,300 ft), that rewards hikers with some spectacular views of the coast.  this stretch of the trail is considered demanding.

spanning 320 meters, praia do meio is a sandy beach, beautifully set between two hills, tropical vegetation and clean water - many sea shells on the rough sand give the whole beach even more of a wild feel.
