The park is a protected area of native and sometimes endangered animals, plants and trees and part of the larger mata atlântica, so it is not allowed to bring outside animals, except seeing eye dogs, and definitely no hunting, fishing, or cutting of any vegetation is ever allowed.

The enjoyment of the natural waterfalls, streams, and pools of waters found everywhere is encouraged, except for the forested sector of Tijuca.
