at a glance

the northern section of the park is known as the covanca or the pretos forros - a thin corridor, that stretches out to the west of the city, the covanca/pretos forros has not been developed as a tourist attraction, and while it still offers some exquisite scenery, it is only open for academic and scientific research.

the park is open daily between 7 am and 6 pm, with schedule subject to change depending on season and the various access points, thus we always recommend checking with a local guide before going, and arranging for a ride back in advance if relying on private transportation.

most of the activities, venues, trails, and hikes are free of charge. arrow-back     arrow-forward
