named praia da ponta da pombeba or baía da marambaia, (marambaia bay), this beach can be reached with boats sailing from the port of  itacuruçá, in mangaratiba. this horse shaped beach is famous among kite surfers due to the possibility of enjoying winds in all directions - and can be seen on this satellite map.

the only means of transport to the sandbank is by a navy boat, and access is allowed to residents and visitors with permission.
