the pedra do pontal is situated in an idyllic location, right in the middle of the lush recreio beach and the peaceful pontal beach, both of which can be viewed in tranquility from the rock.

this part of rio de janeiro is one of the less developed areas of the city, as it is in the young, western neighborhood of recreio dos bandeirantes, which helps it to maintain a more easygoing atmosphere.
