at a glance

the gold trail was built from the tracks of the indians guaianazes in the seventeenth century and used by slaves to carry the wealth extracted from minas gerais to the beach of mambucaba between Angra and paraty.

about 50 km long, the trail is one of the most visited hiking paths, and it goes from são josé do Barreiro to the village of perequê.

since there is a daily limit of 80 visitors, a permit must be requested in advance at the park, by either calling 24 3371.3056, or via the office located at   rua 08, casa 03, portal de paraty.

Admission is free, but the hike is relatively difficult and includes mud, and slippery rocks.   arrow-back     arrow-forward
