museu do amanhã (museum of tomorrow) is a project of tv globo network foundation, fundação roberto marinho. it opened in 2014 in anticipation of a number of high profile events being hosted in rio, such as the 2014 world cup and the 2016 summer olympics.

situated at pier mauá, next to rio's main cruise ship terminal, the museum was conceived as part of the porto maravilha redevelopment plan to regenerate the city's docklands - museum of tomorrow is dedicated to the sciences, technology, ethics, sustainability and ecology. it has a very low environmental impact, is energetically self-sufficient and is composed of recyclable materials.   ● more ●
