the majority of the vidigal neighborhood spreads from the foot of morro dois irmãos, as a result the area affords a wide range of striking viewpoints, most notably leblon beach and ilhas cagarras. walking to the summit of morro dois irmãos is definitely one of the best ways to see rio de janeiro. as hikers ascend the trail there are a number of different lookout points, each special in their own right.

irmão maior (bigger brother) can be seen clearly before hikers reach the peak as the foliage clears and the panoramas slowly begin to make themselves known. when hikers reach the first patch of rock, they are no more than half an hour from the summit. it is there where the views are nothing short of breathtaking at 533m / 1750ft of altitude.
