on top of the park there is a concrete launching pad, used during the day by para-gliders, and at night it becomes the perfect spot to sit and gaze at the horizon - only feet away from a cliff, with nothing to spoil the perfect view.

there are many more parks in rio de janeiro, many with picnic set-ups already in place, like the parque estadual do grajaú in the northern zone of the city, or the parque da cidade in gávea - home to gorgeous gardens and the the museu histórico da cidade.
