parque enrique lage, normally called just parque lage, often considered to be part of the larger jardim botânico because of their proximity, is an area originally established in the mid 19th century. it gained importance in the 1920s with the establishment of a private residence of two famous cariocas, enrique lage and gabriela bezanzoni. in 1960s the land became a public park and the mansion the escola de artes visuais do parque lage (visual arts school of parque lage).
