circo voador, or 'flying circus' from the outside looks like a modern venue, with its canvas roof and huge lit up signage, and whilst it has been modernized recently, this is a venue steeped in history.

now located just moments away from arcos da lapa, circo voador has hosted some of the biggest international names such as franz ferdinand, cat power and nouvelle vague, but also embraces smaller local samba artists.

this is a great concert space, with an attractive outdoor area ideal for cooling down.
