at a glance

during the parade, only one lane on avenida presidente vargas remains open and all taxis most follow a specific route in coming close to the venue's entrance. other streets remain completely shut down.

this is why many ticket holders, even the ones wearing a large costume, choose to travel by metrô, which offers a reliable and more affordable option for transporting to and from the parade.

the metrô runs 24 hours on the days of carnival, however, there is a 20 minute walk to the sambódromo from station drop off points.  arrow-back     arrow-forward
