The Associação dos Notários e Registradores do Brasil - ANOREG-BR, was founded in May of 1984 in Brasilia.

It is the sole class entity recognized by the constituted powers to represent the notary public in any instance or court date, functioning in close relationship with similar organizations and associations.

The institutions has as a mission statement to 'represent the notary class and the registry in defense of their interests and the interests of society,' within a municipal, state and federal scope, as participants in a 'just, pluralist, and modern society.'
