Bowles Volunteering offers a series of different volunteer programs in all regions of Brazil, including a community project on an island off the coast of Paraty, a small colonial town in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

There are a number of small projects needing volunteer help, including a need for English language acquisition, help with the creation of a local library, and general support in growing the tourist industry in the region.

The organization also requires volunteers who have knowledge on basic health and nutritional education, music, technology, and theater programs - The program places volunteers in a private homestay with a local family, or organizes other living situation as needed.

volunteers are expected to  stay for at least 8 to16 weeks, though individuals can stay as little as two weeks or as long as six months - Program fees generally cover accommodation as well as breakfast in a family home.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
