Instituto Cravo Albin is considered by many one of the most important references for the preservation of the memory of MPB – Musica popular brasileira (Brazilian popular music). It delivers to visitors a unique compilation of historical and popular tunes, photographs, videos, news articles, magazines, discs, memorabilia and documents related to important moments and people of the MPB universe.

A visit to the institute is more than a recollection of the old times, it is an in-depth dive into the colorful history of Brazilian music, told by a team of researchers led by Ricardo Cravo Albin, founder of the institute - And for those not yet in Rio, the organization also provides an online radio on their website, for people to listen to the finest selection of historical brazilian tunes anywhere.

Instituto Cravo Albin is located at Av. São Sebastião, 2 - Urca, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22291-070, with a map available here and entrance is free of charge.
