at a glance
senegal and brazil have not really had the opportunity to have much international diplomatic relations until the founding of the south america-africa cooperation forum (asa) in 2006, the most recent meeting being in 2013 in malabo, equatoria guinea. through this group, the relationship between the two countries has blossomed, and senegal has been able to join the growing list of african countries to become part of the 'more food africa program' sponsored by the brazilian government. the program provides training in latest farming techniques and gives the receiving country credits that can then be used to buy brazilian farm machinery, all at reduced interest and longer credit payment terms.
