nowadays one of the biggest damages resulting from this time is the stigmatization of favelas as places concentrated with solely criminals - most of the individuals living in such places are hard working citizens, with honest families, and assumptions such as the aforementioned statement negatively affect the lives of countless individuals - in fact favelas have been the cradle of numerous cultural and artistic contributions, ranging from the iconic floats and costumes of carnival to the rhythm of samba and funk.
