internationally recognized as the most successful brazilian body boarder, gilherme tâmega  won six world titles up until 2002 - born and raised in rio de janeiro  gilherme was well known for his wild style and ability to charge heavy waves.

luísa parente was born in 1973 and had an impressive career in artistic gymnastics - achieving two gold medals in the pan-american games of 1991, she earned international recognition that holds up until today - she was the first brazilian gymnast to compete in two olympic competitions.

today's she is retired from officially training, but her legacy remains  - she works with the luisa parente group to promote all aspects of gymnastics in brazil.
