the atmosphere is relaxed and the waiting staff and chefs charming, not to mention the wonderful views stretching out across the ocean - the owner, an endearing czech lady, speaks no less than four languages and is always happy to recommend the daily special, usually consisting of freshly caught seafood.

another fine establishment goes by the name the cigalon and is again situated on the rua das pedras - a french theme dominates the menu with dishes such as chicken breast dressed in honey vinaigrette with melon, ginger, spices, and shrimp.

the sweet mashed potato with a touch of vanilla is also a winner, all cooked up by the very talented chef, sonia persiani.
