in july some 30,000 people descend on miguel pereira to celebrate the winter festival - with events in plazas and public spaces throughout the city, the festival has live music, theater, art and photography expositions, food presentations and wine tasting.

and with events taking place for most of the month and the weather as mild as ever, it is a big hit with locals and visitors alike.

in august, miguel pereira hosts the unijeep cup, an off-road rally for enthusiasts of all stripes - with different divisions (and trails) to accommodate professional teams, free agents, beginners and even families, the rally offers the opportunity to take 4x4 vehicles to their limits in the rugged terrain that surrounds the city.  

in fact, the area around miguel pereira is so ideal for off-roading that the city puts on trilha de jola, a similar event for motorcycles, in september.
