the museu de arte de sacra (museum of sacred art) holds a rare collection of diverse and valuable relics from churches all around paraty, the quaint and historic region in which it is situated - founded in 1978, this museum is situated within the historic igreja de santa rita (church of santa rita), in close proximity to the quartel do forte da patitiba (barracks of the fort of patitiba).

amidst its jewels are silver and gold utensils, images of saints, antique furniture, period pieces as well as various sacred artifacts which attest to the city's history - baroque images, terracotta angels and saints, and a unique statue of a senhor crucificado (crucified man) crafted of wood in the 18th century, line the hall.
