it was decided that de montigny's earlier work was to be restored, along with a number of inclusions carried out by a franco-brazilian team in 1989 - the designers made it a priority to let as much light into the interior of the center as possible, so there are a number of large skylights, natural light now floods in illuminating the exhibitions within.  side rooms, stretching from the main hall, were also specially designed to house cinematic, theatre, video, and musical events.
