the buses display the sign 'niterói/charitas' and are operated by the two companies auto viação 1001 and braso lisboa -  both lines follow an identical route and detailed bus itineraries for the two bus lines can be seen here and here. 

to get to avenida carlos ermelindo marins, jurujuba, the road that leads to the entrance of the fort, travelers can exit at the end of the line of bus 7003, and then continue via bus line 33to the end of that line also.

from the end of the line of bus line 33, the fortaleza is only reachable by walking (about 30 to 40 minutes), or via car - however, usually there are no taxis in the area.
