located on the mirante de boa viagem in the city of niterói, the museu de arte contemporanea de niterói, or mac, was designed by the iconic carioca arquitect oscar niemeyer with the assistance of structural engineer bruno contarini, and completed in 1996. the mac is primarily intended for contemporary artworks, entirely dated to the twentieth century.
