the museu da farmácia antónio lago (pharmacy museum antonio lago) is named after its founder antonio lago, who began collecting pieces in the early 20th century to capture, document and dissipate the evolution of parmacy in brazil. for this reason he opened the museum in 1951, many items on display originated from his collection of equipment and manuscripts.

nowadays the museum consists of two seperate sections, of which one replicates the old pharmacy and the second features a number of books on the subject of pharmacy.

the museum is open to the public by appointment from monday to friday.
