located between grumariand barra de guaratiba, these beaches are a radical alternative to the beaches of the zona sul(south zone) of rio. still unknown to even most cariocas, these beaches are a real gem, and a most romantic getaway for any couple visiting rio, or eager to discover a corner of the city like no other. 

further, due to the beautiful hikes necessary to reach these beaches, they can be much appreciated by eco trekkers as well. the beaches are not completely deserted during week-ends and holidays, however there are no lifeguards on duty on these shores, nor are there any facilities, kiosks, or food vendors.
