In the 19th century it was part of the Fazenda do Morro Queimado, or 'Burnt Mountain Ranch' and in 1939, the government bought the property from the then owner, Guilherme Guinle, an illustrious businessman, and member of the elite Guinle family.

past the entrance gates, one can find lush lawns, lined by palm, lychee and fig trees, as well as numerous trails for exploration. within it is the Fonte Wallace, or 'Wallace Fountain', a beautiful monument donated to cities all around the world by the English philanthropist, Sir Richard Wallace.arrow-back     arrow-forward
