the marapendi natural municipal park (parque ecológico de marapendi) is situated on the shores of marapendi lake, which straddles recreio dos bandeirantesand barra da tijuca- two neighborhoods located in the west zone of rio de janeiro.

set between ayrton senna and pedro moura avenues,  parque marapendi is one of the most beautiful and easily accessible natural reserves in rio de janeiro.

the park is a haven of natural beauty, and its chief attraction is the opportunity to relax and unwind in the splendor of 'pre-development' rio -though this is by no means the park's only selling point.
