from the zona sul, bus lines 569 (Largo do Machado - Leblon via Jóquei - Circular), 570 (Largo do Machado - Leblon via Copacabana Circular), 583 (Cosme Velho - Leblon via Jóquei - Circular), and 584 (Cosme Velho - Leblon via Copacabana - Circular) reach the district of Cosme Velho, where a taxi can be taken to complete the route to the corcovado and the christ statue.

the christ statue can be reached via train as well, starting from the station located on Rua Cosme Velho, 513.

from the zona sul, the access to the Sector of Pedra Bonita and Pedra da Gávea is along the Estrada das Canoas - a route also followed by bus line 448  (Maracaí - São Conrado - Circular) until the beginning of the last stretch that has to be done by foot.
