pão de açúcar mountain. situated at the mouth of the guanabara bay,
pão de açúcar is translated as 'sugarloaf
mountain', due to its resemblance to the traditional shape
of packed sugar.
it is one of the most popular tourist spots
in the city, with a panoramic cable car, which takes visitors to
the summit. on the journey to the
peak is the less known, but equally
impressive,
morro da urcamountain, looming over the southeastern
coast of the city in the district of urca.
