overlooking the south and central zones of rio, the peak provides a stunning 360-degree view of the marvelous city, including all of the ocean-facing beaches at copacabana, ipanema and beyond and the bayside districts of downtown.

in fact, the mountain is so high that it should be visited on a clear day, as clouds are known to gather around the peak otherwise.

there are essentially only two ways of reaching the top of the mountain - on foot or by cable car. the hiking trail is only advisable for those in good physical condition with climbing experience, as it is quite steep.
