beyond the pico das agulhas negras, the macico das prateleiras, vale do aiuruoca and the pedra do altar are also worthy stops on a visit to this section of the park. 

the lower region of the park is primarily characterized by its lush vegetation and lots of running water, many of which are appropriate for swimming.

the lago azul, cachoeira poranga, or poranga waterfall, and the natural pool at maromba, as well as itaporani and veu waterfalls are all popular stops in this area of the park.
