these include the jacutinga, among over 400 native bird species, pirapitinga, a specie of white fish, the muriqui do norte, a native monkey species, and the gato do mato, a tiger leopard native to central and south america.

visitors will also likely find various native butterfly species under protection, as well as insects like the libelula, and red bats, panthers, apuim de costas pretas, a type of parrot, and lobo-guara, which is a wolf species native to south america.  

the park's rocky granite points are also considered very rare, as they are not found in the majority of the country.
