The patron saint of araruama, Saint Sebastian, has a series of events in his honor, including a party organized by the church and a street race, divided in 5 Km and 10 Km courses.

Last but not least, Araruama hosts the yearly Capoeira Festival, the main capoeira-related event in Araruama, although not the only event where capoeira is present in the city, this event is a worldwide reference in the martial art, reuniting several groups and practitioners from around the world to learn and teach.
