the hike to the peak takes about one hour and a half, and reaches 540 meters above sea level. the summit of the hills are reachable only via a trail that starts from the nearby favela vidigal, and requires the assistance of a local guide.

on a clear sunny day one can take in gorgeous postcard views of the beaches of leblon and ipanema, the rock of arpoador, the cagarras islands, the statue of christ the redeemer, lagoa rodrigo de freitas, and of the jardim botânico.
