located in leblon, in rio's zona sul, in the same stretch that is home to ipanema and arpoador beaches, leblon beach is one of the most famous beaches in rio. the beach is in many ways similar to ipanema beach, with comparable waves and currents - about 1200 meters in length, leblon beach is situated between the water canal jardim de alah (allah's garden) and the beginning of avenida niemeyer, at the base of the dois irmãos mountain.

the avenue along leblon beach is closed to traffic on sundays and holidays, making this area a car-free zone ideal for running, jogging, bicycling, or simply taking a stroll along the promenade.
