the praia do arpoador, or arpoador's beach, is located in the zona sul of rio, and it is a small extension of ipanema beach. this stretch of sand is located in a car-free zone between the pedra do arpoador and the point where francisco otaviano street turns towards copacabana.

arpoador's beach is a particularly quiet beach, loved by surfers throughout the year and during all hours of the day. the ocean here is light green in color, and during the winter the beach creates natural water pools ideal to relax. in addition to the landmark pedra do arpoador, the entrance to the small park garota de ipanema is only a few meters away from the beach.
