mostly favored by local residents and people playing sports, this beach is not as widely attended by international visitors as ipanema, as it does not offer clearly defined social stretches such as posto 8 and posto 9. instead, leblon beach is a more calm environment frequented by brazilian visitors, local families, neighborhood residents, volley fans, and celebrities looking for privacy.

some kiosks are tailored to attend the needs of the many parents and baby sitters taking children on leblon beach during the week. the kiosks are old fashioned, therefore the only public restrooms available are set inside the lifeguard towers - easily identifiable as they are on the edge of the promenade and have the big numbers painted on them.
