founded in 1954, the museu chacara do ceu, is part of the castro maya foundation. a significant portion of castro's own collection is on permanent exhibition in this museum.

the museu chacara do ceu divides its exposition in three sectors. the arte europeia, includes works from european artists such as dematisse, modigliani, degas, seurat e miro.
