the most famous of all rio fairs, the ipanema hippie fair (feira hippie)  takes place every sunday at the general osório plaza (praça general osório) in ipanema, while the second in line takes place at posto 5 on avenida atlantica in copacabana, on all evenings of the week except sundays .

the many stalls offer a wide range of handmade goods and inexpensive gifts, all created by local artists and craftspeople - it is also possible to buy authentic brazilian snacks while perusing the goods on display.
