the windmills along the beach, the peaceful atmosphere in the morning and during the week-days, the manicured vegetation, the clean white sand neatly arranged along the coast, the piers, the white birds, the red cobblestones, the small houses, and the dirt-roads along this beach make this area very different from other beaches in the west zone.

yet, this urban oasis magically transforms itself into a very animated area every saturday night and during holidays, with music and entertainment, gifting the residents with a precious escape and a meeting point. 

among the many local events, it is on this beach that fireworks for new year's eve and concerts are held for the region.

the neighborhood surrounding praia da brisa, called pedra de guaratiba, is a nice, middle-class area with fine dining, lodging, and entertainment beyond the beach.
