getting to this part of rio via public transport can be complicated for visitors who are not familiar with the city, or not fluent in portuguese - a personal guide or assistant is always a great idea.

starting from the zona sul, in ipanema near praça general osório where the subway stops, bus line 2337 (santa cruz x castelo via sepetiba) stops at avenida rainha elizabeth da bélgica 11, brs3 - a five minute walk from the subway stop towards copacabana.

this bus ride is about 50 kilometers long, lasts about 120 minutes, and costs 13 reals each way, payable in cash at the bus door.

the closest bus stop to praia do aterro (praia da brisa) is on estrada do piaí and then a 700 meter walk is required to reach the beach.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
